Automated Laplacian Ecg Moment of Activation Determination Algorithm during Pacing

چکیده

Laplacian ECG (LECG) is a unique technique for detecting cardiac electrical activity. The recurrent property of ECG is exploited by this unique algorithm for the detection of the QRS complexes by cross (auto) correlation. Further, the algorithm calculates the time offset of the LECG signal from the ECG peak. This offset is termed the moment of activation (MoA) and is determined automatically. LECG body surface isochronal maps depict information about cardiac activation patterns. Besio related the ECG QRS complex to the LECG isochrones by mapping the body surface MoAs. This unique automated algorithm during pacing, detected QRS complexes correctly 99.3% and mapped isochrones.

Filtering of Surface Laplacian Electrocardiograms from Humans to Produce Atrial Activation Patterns

Four digital filtering techniques were evaluated to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of directly obtained Laplacian electrograms (LECG), which were bandpass filtered before analog to digital conversion. The moment of activation (MOA) in the LECG was detected to create isochronal body surface maps, which show activation patterns. Unprocessed atrial LECG activity coincided with P-waves in ...

Noninvasive study of ventricular preexcitation using multichannel magnetocardiography.

In clinical practice, noninvasive classification of ventricular preexcitation (VPX) is usually done with ECG algorithms, which provide only a qualitative localization of accessory pathways. Since 1984, single or multichannel magnetocardiography (MMCG) has been used for three-dimensional localization of VPX sites, but a systematic study comparing the results of ECG and MMCG methods was lacking. ...

The significance of persistent atrial late potentials in right atrium during biatrial pacing

Background: Atrial conduction disturbances are a known substrate of re-entrant atrial arrhythmia, and their detection is important for the selection of proper therapy. Time-domain analysis of P-wave in signal-averaged ECG (SA-ECG) recorded from chest leads is an accepted method evaluating inhomogeneity of atrial excitation, predictive for atrial arrhythmias. Biatrial (BiA) pacing created a new ...

Automated detection of effective left-ventricular pacing: going beyond percentage pacing counters.

AIMS Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices report percentage pacing as a diagnostic but cannot determine the effectiveness of each paced beat in capturing left-ventricular (LV) myocardium. Reasons for ineffective LV pacing include improper timing (i.e. pseudofusion) or inadequate pacing output. Device-based determination of effective LV pacing may facilitate optimization of CRT respon...

Dispersion of repolarization in cardiac resynchronization therapy.

BACKGROUND Proarrhythmic effects of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) as a result of increased transmural dispersion of repolarization (TDR) induced by left ventricular (LV) epicardial pacing in a subset of vulnerable patients have been reported. The possibility of identifying these patients by ECG repolarization indices has been suggested. OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to te...
